ChapterIGeneralProvisionsArticle1.0.1TheCodeispreparedtodesignproperlythelowexpansionairfoamextinguishingsystem(hereinafterreferredasfoamextinguishingsystem),minimizefirelossesandguaranteethesafetyofpersonnelandproperty.Article1.0.2Thedesignforfoamextinguishingsystemshallcomplywiththerelevantnationalprinciplesandpolicies,besafeandreliable,advancedintechnology,rationalineconomyandeasyinmanagement.Article1.0.3TheCodeisapplicabletothedesignforfoamextinguishingsystemfortheprocess,storage,handlingandapplicationofClassA(exceptliquefiedhydrocarbons),BandCliquids.TheCodeisnotapplicabletothedesignforfoamextinguishingsystemforshipsandoffshoreoilplatforms.Article.1.0.4InadditiontothespecificationsoftheCode,thedesignforfoamextinguishingsystemshallconformtotherelevantstandardsandcodesinforceinthecountry.ChapterIISelectionofFoamLiquidandSizingoftheSystemSectionISelection,StorageandFormulationofFoamSolutionArticle2.1.1Fornon-aqueousliquidsofClassA,BandC,itisrecommendedthatproteinfoamliquid,fluoro-proteinfoamliquidoraqueousfilm-formingfoamliquidshallbeselectedifinjectionfoamextinguishingsystemisusedwhilefluoro-proteinfoamliquidoraqueousfilm-formingliquidshallbeselectedifsubmergedinjectionfoamextinguishingsystemisused.Article2.1.2Alcohol-resistantfoamliquidshallbeusedforaqueousliquidsofClassA,BandC.0Article2.1.3Foamliquidsshallbestoredatatemperatureof0-40Candinawell-ventilateddryroomorshed.Article2.1.4Theformulationoffoamliquidintofoamsolutionshallmeetthefollowingrequirements:1.Freshwaterorseawatermaybeusedtoformulateprotein,fluoro-proteinandalcohol-resistantfluoro-proteinfoamliquidintofoamsolution;2.Freshwatershallbeusedtoformulategel-typeandmetallicsoaptypefoamliquidintofoamsolution.3.Waterthathasanimpactontheextinguishingperformanceofthefoamisforbiddentobeusedtoformulateallkindsoffoamliquidintofoamsolution.4.Itisrecommendedthatthetemperatureofthewaterusedtoformulatefoamliquidintofoamsolutionbe04-35C.SectionIISizingoftheSystemArticle2.2.1Thesystemshallbesizedaccordingtothecompoundfactorssuchasthescaleoftheprotectedobject,firehazard,generalarrangement,difficultyoffiresuppressionandsetupoffirestation.Article2.2.2Itisrecommendedthatfixedfoamextinguishingsystembeselectedforoneofthefollowingapplications1.Independenttankfarmofnon-aqueousliquidsofClassA,BandCwithatotalstoragecapacity≥5003m;32.VerticaltankfarmofaqueousliquidsofClassA,BandCwithatotalstoragecapacity≥200m;www.bzfxw.com 3.Tankfarmofnon-aqueousliquidsofClassA,BandC,whichisaffiliatedtoenterpriseswithinadequatemechanicalfirefightingfacilities.Article2.2.3Itisrecommendedthatsemi-fixedfoamextinguishingsystembeusedforoneofthefollowingapplications:1.TankfarmofliquidsofClassA,BandCaffiliatedtoenterpriseswithstrongmechanicalfirefightingfacilities;2.Applicationswithpotentialoffirehazardinpetrochemicalproductionarea.Article2.2.4Itisrecommendedthatportablefoamextinguishingsystembeusedforoneofthefollowingapplications:31.Groundverticaltankofnon-aqueousliquidsofClassA,BandCwithatotalstoragecapacity≤500m,3singletankcapacity≤200mandtheheightoftankwall≤7m;32.GroundverticaltankofaqueousliquidsofClassA,BandCwithatotalstoragecapacity<200m,single3tankcapacity≤100mandtheheightoftankwall≤5m;3.Horizontaltanks;4.TheareaseasytoleakintheloadingplaceofClassA,BandCliquids.ChapterIIISystemDesignSectionIGeneralprovisionsofDesignforFoamExtinguishingsystemforTankFarmArticle3.1.1Thedesignforfoamextinguishingsystemfortankfarmandthefoamsolutionquantityshallmeettherequirementsofthesumofsolutionconsumptionnecessaryforsuppressingthefireofsingletankwithmaximumsolutionconsumptionandsolutionconsumptionnecessaryfortheauxiliaryfoamnozzlesusedtosuppressthespreadingfireofthetank.Article3.1.2Theamountnecessarytofillupthepipesshallbeincludedinthetotalstoragequantityoffoamliquidfortankfarminadditiontothequantitycalculatedwiththespecifiedsupplystrength,numberofnozzlesandcontinuoussupplyduration.Article3.1.3Iffixedfoamextinguishingsystemisused,portablefoamextinguishingdevicessuchasfoamhookpipe,foamnozzleandfoamfirevehicleshallbeprovidedinadditiontofixedfoamextinguishingdevices.Article3.1.4ThenumberoffoamnozzlesnecessaryforsuppressingthespreadingfireofliquidsofClassA,BandCshallbedeterminedwiththediameterofthetankwithmaximumconsumptionoffoamsolution,thenumberandcontinuoussupplydurationshallnotbelessthanthespecificationsinTable3.1.4.NumberoffoamnozzlesandcontinuoussupplydurationTable3.1.4DiameterofTank(m)NumberofPQ8NozzlesContinuousSupplyDurationProvided(piece)(min)<2311023-33220>33330SectionIIDesignforInjectionFoamExtinguishingSystemforTankFarmArticle3.2.1Thefiringareaofinjectionfoamextinguishingsystemforfixedrooftankshallbecalculatedwiththecrosssectionareaoftank.Thesupplystrengthandcontinuoussupplydurationoffoamsolutionshallconformtothefollowingspecifications:I.Fornon-aqueousliquidsofClassA,BandC,thestrengthanddurationshallnotbelessthanwww.bzfxw.com theconnectionisroutedalongthetankwallto0.7mabovethegroundoroutofthefire-proofembankment,andcorrespondingconnectionsshallbeprovided.Article3.2.6Theroutingoffoamsolutionpipewithinthefire–proofembankmentshallconformtothefollowingspecifications:I.Thehorizontalpipeoffoamsolutionshallberoutedonpipestandorsupport,howevernotfixedwiththem.II.Thepipeoffoamsolutionshallbeinclinedwith30%slopetothefire-proofembankment.Article3.2.7Theroutingoffoamsolutionpipeoutoffire-proofembankmentshallconformtothefollowingspecifications:I.Itisrecommendedthathydrantsbeprovidedinthefoamsolutionpipe,thenumbershallbedeterminedaccordingtothenumberofnozzlesandtheradiusofprotectionspecifiedinArticle3.1.4oftheCode;II.Thefoamsolutionpipeshallbeinclinedwith2%slopetoventvalve,thecontrolvalveinthepipeshallbelocatedoutofthefire-proofembankmentandbeprovidedwithclearmark;III.Highventsshallbeprovidedinfoamsolutionpipe.Article3.2.8Thedesignflowforfoamsolutionpipeshallbe≤3m/s,thehydrauliccalculationsshallbedonebasedonthenationalstandardinforce“DesignCodeofAutoSprayingfireextinguishingsystem“.SectionIIIDesignforSubmergedInjectionFoamExtinguishingSystemforTankFarmArticle3.3.1ThesubmergedinjectionfoamextinguishingsystemshallnotbeadoptedfortanksofaqueousliquidsofClassA,BandC,neithershoulditbeusedforouterfloatingandinnerfloatingrooftanks.Article3.3.2Forgroundfixedrooftanks,whensubmergedinjectionfoamextinguishingsystemandfluoro-proteinfoamliquidisused,thefollowingspecificationsshallbesatisfied:2I.Thesupplystrengthoffoamsolutionshall≥6L/min.m,foamexpansionof3shallbeused;02Ifthestoragetemperatureexceeds50Cortheviscosityisgreaterthan40mm/s,thesupplystrengthoffoamsolutionshallbedeterminedbytests;II.Thecontinuoussupplydurationoffoamsolutionshallbe30min;III.Thespeedoffoamenteringintooilshallbe≤3m/s;0IV.Theinjectionnozzleshallbeinclinedupwardwithaninclinedangleof45,thelengthofinjectionpipeintrudingintothetankshallbe≥10timesthediameterofinjectionpipe.Ifonlyoneinjectionnozzleisavailable,itshallbelocatedatthecenterofthetank;ifmorethanonenozzleisprovided,theyshallbelocatedevenlywithanapproximateequalflowforeachinjectionnozzle;V.Foaminjectionnozzleshallbeinstalledabovethewaterlayerofthetank.ThenumberofinjectionnozzleprovidedshallnotbelessthanthatspecifiedinTable3.3.2.www.bzfxw.com 3500.070III.ThevalveinfoampipeandequivalentlengthofsomepipefittingsshallbedeterminedaccordingtoTable3.3.5-2.ValveinFoamPipeandEquivalentLengthofSomePipeFittingsTable3.3.5-2Nominaldiameter150200250300(mm)categoryofpipefittingGatevalve1.251.501.752.0900elbow4.255.006.758.00Swingcheckvalve12.0015.2520.5024.50Article3.3.6Forsubmergedinjectionfoamextinguishingsystem,theroutingoffoamsolutionpipeandhydrauliccalculationsshallbedeterminedaccordingtoArticle3.2.7&3.2.8oftheCode.Article3.3.7Forsubmergedinjectionfoamextinguishingsystem,steelcontrolvalveandcheckvalveshallbeprovidedinfoampipewithinthefire-proofembankment,andsteelcontrolvalvebeprovidedoutoftheembankment.SectionIVFoamSprayingSystemArticle3.4.1ThefoamsprayingsystemisapplicablefortheprotectionofClassA,BandCliquidswhichmightleakandwithinadequatemechanicalfirefightingfacilities.Article3.4.2Forfoamsprayingsystem,ifsuctiontypesprinklerisused,protein,fluoro-protein,aqueousfilm-formingfoamoralcohol-resistantfoamliquidshallbeusedwhileaqueousfilm-formingfoamliquidshallbeusedifnon-suctiontypesprinklerisadopted.Article3.4.3Ifproteinfoamliquidorfluoro-proteinfoamliquidisusedtoprotectnon-aqueousliquidsof2ClassA,BandC,thesupplystrengthshallnotbelessthan8L/min.m,andthecontinuoussupplydurationshallnotbeshorterthan10min.Ifaqueousfilm-formingfoamliquidisusedtoprotectnon-aqueousliquidsofClassA,BandCoralcohol-resistantfoamliquidisusedtoprotectaqueousliquidsofClassA,BandC,thesupplystrengthandcontinuoussupplydurationoffoamsolutionshallbedeterminedbytests.Article3.4.4Thehead-sprayingfoamsprinklershallbelocated3-10mabovethelowestpartoftheprotectedobject;ifitisbeyondthisrange,itshallbedeterminedbytests.Article3.4.5Automaticfirealarmsshallbeprovidedforfoamsprayingsystem.Theyshallbeinautocontrolmode,butalsoprovidedwithmanualcontroldevice.SectionVFoamPumpStationArticle3.5.1Itisrecommendedthatfoampumpstationbeconstructedcombiningwithfirefightingwaterpumphouse,withafire–resistantgradenotlowerthanII.Thedistancefrompumpstationtotheprotectedobjectshallnotbelessthan30m,anditshallnottakelongerthan5min.todeliveryfoamorfoamsolutiontothefarthestprotectedobjectafterthestart-upoffoampump.Article3.5.2Itisrecommendedthatfoampumpbestartedbyselfdumping,nolessthantwosuctionlinesshallbeprovidedforeachgroupoffoampumps,whenonelinefails,theotheronecanhandleallthewww.bzfxw.com
